Raul R. Padilla

Raul R. Padilla age 83 of Del Rio TX, passed on October 14th 2022 in his home with his family by his side. He was a devout Christan, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Uncle who will be greatly missed by all. Raul was born and raised in Del Rio, TX in September of 1939 to the parents of Mauro and Juanita Padilla. He would go on to continue in the family business as a general contractor and builder in Texas and California. In his mid-20’s, he would marry his beautiful wife, Pura Padilla, to whom he devoted 59 amazing years of marriage to. Together they had two children, Diana and Christina Padilla, who he loved dearly. Raul cherished his time with his children, as well as his grandchildren, Anthony and Raul Martinez. For those who did not call him dad and grandpa, he will forever be remembered as Uncle Roy. Raul enjoyed gardening, listening to music, and picking on his grandkids. Raul had a unique way of making a vision come to life in his craft of building. He always found a way to make something work. Raul’s family remembers him as a man that was loving and was always concerned about others. Throughout Raul’s life, he had the ability to bring a smile to someone’s day with his quirkiness and jokes. He will never be forgotten and his life’s teachings will be passed on for generations. Raul is survived by Pura Padilla, daughter Diana Padilla Gonzalez and Husband Manual Gonzalez, daughter Christina Padilla Pena and Husband Manuel Pena, grandson Anthony Martinez and wife Mirely Martinez, grandson Raul Martinez, sisters Eva Moor, Martha Sandoval, friend Antonio Martinez He is joined in Heaven by his parents, grandparents, and siblings Mauro, Joe, Janie, Rosie, and Salvador Padilla. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Anthony F. Martinez, Raul A. Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Manuel Gonzales, and Manuel Peña.
