Maria De Jesus Duran Gonzalez, age 76, peacefully passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 24, 2025, here in Del Rio. She was born on July 10, 1948. With hearts full of gratitude and love, we celebrate the life of María D. González, a woman who, with her unwavering faith and eternal love, illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. María was a devoted wife, loving mother, and exceptional grandmother. Her life was marked by dedication and sacrifice for her family, always being a steadfast pillar of strength and love in every moment. María lived with the conviction that her greatest mission in life was to serve God and others. In her church, her devotion was a beacon of light, always encouraging everyone to grow in faith and draw closer to the Lord. Through her generosity and kindness, she touched the hearts of many, leaving a legacy of compassion and love. Today, although we feel the pain of her passing, we are comforted by the knowledge that she has received her eternal reward in the presence of her Savior. Her faith has borne fruit, and her life continues to inspire all of us. María lived as an example of God’s goodness, and her memory will live forever in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who experienced her love. Grateful for the time we shared with her, we unite in prayer and love, knowing that María now enjoys the peace that only the Lord can offer. Her spirit remains alive in each of us, guiding us with her faith and unconditional love. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her life. Revelations 14:13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Preceding her in death was her son, Eleazar Gonzalez; parents, Francisca and Aurelio Duran; siblings: Maria de los Angeles Castillo, Pablo Duran, Leandro Duran, Leonor Duran, and Norberto Duran; Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 56 years, Jesus V. Gonzalez of Del Rio; daughters: Rosa Gonzalez-Abrego and husband, Romulo Abrego, Delia Gonzalez, and Norma Medrano and husband Manuel Medrano, all of Austin, TX; siblings: Celia Duran, and Eugenio Duran, both of Villa Union, Coahuila, MX; grandchildren: Samantha, Elianna, Nichole, Brianna, Adriel, and Alan; Maria is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends. Con el corazón lleno de gratitud y esperanza, celebramos la vida de María D. González, una mujer que, con su fe inquebrantable y su amor eterno, iluminó la vida de todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla. María fue una esposa devota, madre amorosa y abuela excepcional. Su vida estuvo marcada por la dedicación y el sacrificio por su familia, siendo un pilar firme de fortaleza y amor en cada momento. En su iglesia, su devoción era un faro de luz, siempre alentando a todos a crecer en la fe y acercarse al Señor. Hoy, aunque sentimos el dolor de su partida, nos consuela saber que ella ha alcanzado la recompensa eterna en la presencia de su Salvador. Su fe ha dado fruto y su vida sigue siendo una inspiración para todos nosotros. María vivió como ejemplo de la bondad de Dios, y su memoria vivirá por siempre en los corazones de su familia, amigos y todos aquellos que experimentaron su amor. Agradecidos por haber compartido este tiempo con ella, nos unimos en oración y en amor, sabiendo que María ahora disfruta de la paz que solo el Señor puede ofrecer. Sí, dice el Espíritu, descansarán de sus trabajos, porque sus obras con ellos siguen. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. A Prayer Service will begin at 7 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Apostolic Life Center, located at 208 E. Garza Street. Officiating will be Pastor Abner Nava.
