Jose "Pio" Escareno

March 23, 1946 - March 2, 2022

Jose Escareño, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Baptist Medical Center, located in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on March 23, 1946 in Del Rio. Preceding him in death were his brothers: Ramon Escareño and Jesus Gonzalez; Family members left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 50 years, Rosa Escareño of Del Rio; children: Rosa Isela Arellano and husband Alfredo Arellano Jr. of Eagle Pass, TX, Jose Escareño Jr. and wife Yanira Escareño of Del Rio, Rene Escareño and wife Christina Escareño of Del Rio, Jazmin Estrada and husband Carlos Estrada of Eagle Pass, Tx, and Rebekah Rodriguez and husband Sergio Rodriguez of Del Rio; sisters: Francisca Soto, Eva Cantu, and Estrella Prieto; grandchildren: Jacklyn, Alfredo III, Jose III, Yuliana, Austin, Leslie, Avery, Penny, and Oliver; Jose is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. A Prayer Service will begin at 7 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Templo Bethel Church, located at 506 Esquivel Street. Officiating will be Pastor Guadalupe Mora. Burial will follow at the San Felipe Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jose Escareño Jr., Rene Escareño, Alfredo Arellano Jr., Carlos Estrada, Alfredo Arellano III, and Jose Escareño III.
