Gracia Rios was known to be a very hard worker. At a young age, Gracia would go to work with her siblings to go pick cotton and fruit to help provide for her family. One time Gracia was telling a story of a time when she was out picking on the field, and they suddenly started to get a bad thunderstorm. Gracia says that she was trying to run to the truck because a tornado was coming towards them. She said as she ran to the truck, there was a chubby guy running next to her. She said that they both looked at each other when they were running, and out of nowhere he tripped over his feet and fell. Gracia started laughing when she told this story. Gracia says that when she and her brothers would go on their jobs, they would spend the nights by the fields in small ditches all lined up next to each other. Gracia was not only known for working in the fields, but many knew her from cleaning facilities around Del Rio and working in the laundry business for many years. This is where she was able to make long term friends whom she still kept in contact with this the last week that she passed. Not only was Gracia a hard worker, but she was an amazing Mom, Grandma, Tia, etc. Gracia raised 4 kids and took in anyone who needed help. Her house was constantly filled with family and friends. Anyone who needed a place to stay her doors were always opened. Gracia didn’t have much, but she made sure that she would give everything she could. Gracia was known for even giving away her last dollar without hesitation if someone asked. Gracia was also know for always having a smile on her face. Any time you would ask her to smile, she would give you a smile. Gracia also loved her plants. Anywhere she lived she would begin to cover the yard in plants. Gracia loves bright colored flowers, and would always show people picture of her plants. Her phone was covered in photos that she her self would take of her pictures. Gracia loved roses, fruit tree, especially her figs, and anything with pretty vibrant colors. I am sure anyone who knew her has tons of memories of her. Gracia made a huge impact on those she met, and everyone loved her. Gracia Rios would be dearly missed by everyone. This is only a temporary goodbye. Until we meet again. We all love you Gracia.
