Norma C. Arrañaga Blannin

Norma Cecilia Arrañaga Blannin (72), born July 15, 1954 in Del Rio, Texas, to Luis A. Arrañaga and Dolores O. Arrañaga of Del Rio, Texas, passed away on July 19, 2026. She was the fifth born of nine children, to Luis (Papa Louie) and Dolores (Mama Dee). Her greatest love was her family and her children, of which she had four. Peggy Alejandra, Emily Michelle, Ismael Orlando, and Joshua Chubasco. She was also blessed with (12) grandchildren Justin, Reagan, Rylyn, Evan, Jade, Isaiah, Alexis, Nicole, Liam, Leyland, Landon, and Logan. Norma, was a phenomenal saleswoman for many years, selling Avon to many throughout her community, consistently performing as a top sales representative, garnishing over 35 years of annual awards as a President’s Club Member and various Ambassador levels. She dedicated her time, love and passion to the things and people she loved most. A beloved wife, a cherished mother, a doting grandmother, a benevolent sister, a kindhearted aunt, and loyal friend, she will be missed by all. On Saturday, August 8th, there will be a small memorial service to honor the woman who touched so many lives, whose magnetism and charisma drew so many close, a woman we were all privileged and blessed to have known. Norma is preceded in death by her father and mother, Luis A. Arrañaga and Dolores O. Arrañaga, her aunts/uncles Lucia Martinez, Irma Urby, Armandina Fuentes, Leonel Fuentes, Johnny Arrañaga, Manuel Arrañaga, and Carlos Arrañaga, nieces, Ariana Arrañaga, Stephanie Salas, and cousin Diana “Dee Dee” Fuentes. She is survived by her husband, Robert Blannin, her children Peggy (Jaime) Rios, Emily (Jerome) Rivas, Ismael Lira, Joshua (Julisa) Lira, stepchildren Violet Longo, Monica Blannin, and Osvaldo Blannin. She is survived by her 8 siblings, Dolores “Loli” Arrañaga, Marina (Aurelio, Jr) Laing, Maria Elena (John H. III) Wright, Cristina V. (Richard) Cortez, Luis A. Arrañaga (Elia †), Rebecca (Bob †) Dimas, Robert M. (Linda) Arrañaga, Richard A. (Yoldanda) Arrañaga, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. A gathering for friends and family will be held, Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Del Rio Civic Center (Mesquite Room) from 12:00 PM to 2 PM.
